Default Were the S. California fires good for newspaper business?

Disasters were great for newspaper sales in the past, but are they now?

Does anyone in Southern California know if newspaper copy sales increased? Did ad revenue increase? Did consumers of news look to newspapers, the Internet, or TV/radio more for news of the disaster?

I wonder if the total consumption of news from all outlets increases whenever disaster hits, or does it simply shift between media? Of course it is too early for hard data, but any impressions and insights from the media folks in Southern California would be very interesting to the rest of us.

I sell local retail advertising in southern Califiornia and the fires seemed to hurt me and local business. I work in a small town that wasn't directly hit by any of the fires but we are only an hour away from areas affected. Local companies' just seemed to be scared and foot traffic slowed for almost all of my accounts.
