Default New national record - 92,138

If anyone is wondering which university has the most dedicated football fans, please note that ninety-two thousand, one hundred and thirty-eight happy ALABAMA fans were in Tuscaloosa's Bryant Denny Stadium last Saturday afternoon BEFORE THE FIRE MARSHALL CLOSED THE GATES. Reliable, conservative estimates of the fans left outside the stadium range from 10 to 15 thousand. All these fans came to see BAMA's spring scrimmage, and to show support for our new head coach, Nick Saban.

BAMA fans are happy to live with the official 92,138 count, since it far exceeds the national runner-up Ohio State's 75,310 and national champion Florida's earlier 47,500. We enjoy setting records, even of course, if it was just a scrimmage. It sure was fun partying with over 100,000 of your closest friends!

Default BAMA v LSU

This Saturday, Nick Saban, former head football coach at LSU (before he went to the Miami Dolphins, then to BAMA) will be reunited with about 30 football players he recruited to LSU. He will, however be looking at them from across the field as he coaches ALABAMA's CRIMSON TIDE against them.

More than 120,000 fans are expected Saturday in Tuscaloosa on the University of Alabama's beautiful campus as the LSU Tigers come to play football with The TIDE. Since Bryant Denny Stadium only holds 92,138 happy-to-be-there fans, the University is installing a JUMBOTRON TV on the QUAD (parade ground) next to the stadium. The 20 to 30 thousand additional fans can also participate in the game experience. With a clear blue sky, tree leaves turning bright colors and cool temperatures in the 60's expected, the fans will be treated to a perfect fall football experience.

No alcohol is served in regular season SEC football games. That, of course, does not apply to outside the stadium, so watching the game on the QUAD will provide additional entertainments not experienced by those in the stadium. SEC football and college football in general will be celebrated in glorious tradition this Saturday in Alabama. I wish you all could be here with us! What do they say at ALABAMA? GO BAMA - ROLL TIDE!

Where will you be watching football this weekend?
